Grounded 2 Keys: All Locations, Chests, and Rewards

Grounded 2 keys at a glance

Current Grounded 2 progression uses two treasure keys and one story access pass. The treasure keys lead to buried chests, while the access pass opens doors inside a dungeon.

The two treasure hunts are optional reward routes. The Network Center Access Pass is part of the dungeon path, so collect it as soon as you see the corpse beside the central door.

Prepare before each key run

Fuzzy gear and Blazin' Brew make the Ice Cream Cart much safer. Carry healing supplies and a torch as backup, since Chill can slow or stop the run before you reach the key. For both buried chests, confirm that the Omni-Shovel is Tier 2 before leaving the base.

Frostbitten Key and chest route

Find the Frostbitten Key

1. Enter the Ice Cream Cart from the southeast through the tunnel formed by spilled ice cream.
2. Take the first right into the large lower chamber.
3. Move toward the dead Ominent employee near the strawberry ice cream and Missing Optical Disk C.
4. Pick up the Frostbitten Key beside the body.

The key is easier to reach than its chest. Cold protection is enough for the pickup, but the next half of the route needs two upgraded Omni-Tool attachments.

Open the Frostbitten chest

1. Climb toward the upper interior of the Ice Cream Cart.
2. Cross the metal pipe leading to the lit opening in the wall.
3. Break the icicles locking the fan with the Tier 2 Omni-Hammer.
4. Follow the tunnel below the fan into the Ice Sickles defense chamber.
5. Search the southeast side of the room for a banana peel and a glint in the ground.
6. Dig with the Tier 2 Omni-Shovel, then use the Frostbitten Key on the chest.

The chest contains 2 Mint Globs. After unlocking the Ice Sickles recipe through the nearby defense event, those globs provide the rare material for another pair.

Sizzling Key and chest route

Find the Sizzling Key

Progress through the Networking story and defeat the Masked Stranger in Network Center Level 05. Enter the room beyond the fight and inspect the desk. The Sizzling Key sits beside the Network Center Turbo Optical Disk and the Charred Recipe.

Pick up all three items before leaving. The Charred Recipe unlocks the Spicy Coaltana, and the key leads to the rare ingredient needed to craft it.

Open the Sizzling chest

1. Travel to the southwest side of Pine Hill, west of the Picnic Table corner.
2. Ride a Red Soldier Ant Buggy up the roots and break through the dead-root barricade.
3. Follow the elevated root north toward spider eggs, red mushrooms, and the westernmost large tree.
4. Look for several Pop Cap rings where two roots meet.
5. Drop into the root crevice and find the glowing patch among the pine needles.
6. Dig with the Tier 2 Omni-Shovel, then open the chest with the Sizzling Key.

The Sizzling chest contains 2 Spicy Globs. Combine them with the other Spicy Coaltana materials after obtaining the Charred Recipe from the Network Center.

Network Center Access Pass

The Network Center Access Pass serves a different job from the two treasure keys. In Level 03, defeat General Berserker and inspect the main hub with three doors. A dead Ominent employee lies at the base of the middle door, and the pass is on the corpse.

Pick it up before exploring the side rooms. The pass opens doors within Level 03, while the relay switches in those rooms handle the remaining progression gate. A locked door in this hub points to a nearby solution, so there is no need to search another park region for the pass.

Search results often mix both games. These key names belong to the original Grounded:
