Grounded 2 Creature Cards and Gold Cards

Learn how to scan Grounded 2 creature cards, read weaknesses and weak points, obtain gold cards, and progress the Trapper PEEP.R mutation.

Quick answer

  • 1Open PEEP.R, center a living or dead creature, and use the displayed peep control to add its normal card to the DATA tab.
  • 2Creature cards show tier, weaknesses, resistances, weak points, a description, and your kill count for that creature.
  • 3Ordinary gold cards are rare rewards from harvesting remains; Loot Luck does not improve their drop chance.
  • 4Collect 25, 50, and 75 gold cards to unlock and progress Trapper PEEP.R for stronger critical-hit damage.

How to unlock a creature card

A creature card turns one careful scan into a safer second encounter. Use this sequence whenever a new animal, insect, or O.R.C. variant appears:

  1. Open PEEP.R and use zoom if the target is far away.
  2. Center the creature in the view until the peep prompt appears.
  3. Press the displayed peep control to record it.
  4. Open the SCA.B 2K DATA tab and select the new card.

On PC, the default sequence is X to open PEEP.R and E to peep. Follow the on-screen prompt on a controller or after changing key bindings.

The target can be alive or dead. Scan an aggressive creature from a safe distance when possible, then use its remains as a second chance before harvesting.

What creature cards show

Each card is a compact combat report:

Card fieldHow to use it
TierCompare the creature with the current equipment stage
WeaknessesChoose a damage type that receives a favorable matchup
ResistancesRemove weapons or elements that lose value in the fight
Weak pointsAim attacks at the listed body area when the angle is available
DescriptionIdentify behavior and the creature's role in the park
Kill countTrack farming volume and gold-card attempts

Read the card before changing the entire build. Start with the primary weakness, keep enough defense for the creature's attacks, and use a weak point only when reaching it does not create a worse position.

How gold cards work

Normal cards and gold cards use different actions. Peeping records the normal card. For most creatures, a gold card has a 1 percent chance to appear when you harvest the remains after a kill. Loot Luck and other drop boosts do not improve that roll.

Bosses and one-time story encounters use special rules. AXL and King Dozer have a 10 percent chance when harvested. Several one-time O.R.C. and Masked Stranger encounters grant their gold cards automatically, so complete the harvest and post-fight interactions before leaving those arenas.

Gold cards progress Trapper PEEP.R:

Gold cards collectedMutation progress

50Unlock the second phase
75Unlock the third phase

Trapper PEEP.R increases the damage multiplier of critical hits. It rewards a collection route that already supplies materials, food, and upgrade parts for a critical-hit build.

Build a complete card route

Audit the DATA tab by broad creature group, then turn missing entries into short habitat routes.

  1. Harmless: Scan small park life before it runs, burrows, or moves out of view.
  2. Neutral: Peep before the first attack so the scan does not compete with combat.
  3. Angry: Scan from elevation, behind cover, or at maximum zoom before entering detection range.
  4. O.R.C.: Treat each variant as its own entry and scan it during the related story, transmitter, or wave encounter.

For gold cards, farm creatures whose parts still serve a crafting goal. Harvest every body, return after the habitat repopulates, and rotate between several useful species. The 1 percent ordinary drop rate has no guaranteed attempt count, so a material-first route keeps every unsuccessful harvest productive.

Use this field checklist:

  1. Check the DATA tab before leaving base and note one missing normal card per destination.
  2. Carry the weapon and defense that match cards already collected in that habitat.
  3. Peep each new silhouette before attacking.
  4. Harvest every defeated target that still lacks a gold card.
  5. Recheck the DATA tab after story fights and biome transitions.
