Grounded 2 Optical Disk checklist

Grounded 2 has 11 verified Optical Disks through update 0.4.2. Older six-disk checklists cover the launch map only. The current set also includes four Toxic Tangle disks and the Sinkhole Anthill TURBO Disk from Beat the Heat.

Insert every disk at a Ranger Station after pickup. The disk reveals Science Shop purchases, and most recipes still require Raw Science before they become usable.

Best Optical Disks to collect first

Collect disks in the order that removes your next progression wall. The Snackbar TURBO Disk comes first because its Hatchery unlock starts Buggy progression. The Stolen TURBO Disk adds the Smithing Station and Bratburst, then the Network Center TURBO Disk opens the Orb Weaver.

After entering Toxic Tangle, prioritize the Hedge Disk for the Oven and Mighty Globs. Take the Fairy TURBO Disk when the story leads through the Candy Processing Facility, then collect Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch disks for Sour and Spicy Globs. Finish the Sinkhole route when you are ready for sturdy upgrades and the Black Soldier Ant Buggy.

Hazard preparation

Cold routes

Wear Chill Reduction gear before entering the Ice Cream Cart lower levels. Bring a light source and enough healing to cross exposed cold sections without stopping to reorganize inventory.

Heat and height routes

The Greenhouse disk route crosses plants, roof edges, power cables, and hot lights. Equip Sizzle protection, let the meter clear between crossings, and leave the Orb Weaver before the narrow cable section. The Hedge route is easier with the Orb Weaver Buggy because its web traversal handles the elevated path behind the Park Bench.

Tang and boss routes

The Fairy facility and Sinkhole Anthill require combat preparation. Clear inventory space before the run, bring healing, and drop any carried egg before the O.R.C. Potato Beetle encounter. The Sinkhole disk sits on a desk after that fight.

Missing disk troubleshooting

Confirm that your game is updated, then check whether the marker leads underground or above your current position. Disk icons often mark the objective area while the actual entrance begins elsewhere. Follow facility wires, story doors, Ranger Outposts, and named points of interest to find the intended route.

If a disk has been collected but a recipe is absent, return to a Ranger Station, insert the disk, and inspect the Science Shop. Disk insertion unlocks the purchase; it does not automatically buy every recipe.
