Milk Molar types and requirements
Grounded 2 uses three related collectibles for different progression tracks.
| Type | What it upgrades | Collection note |
|---|---|---|
| Milk Molar | Personal survival stats such as health, stamina, and resource drain | Spend it for the collecting character |
| Mega Milk Molar | Group inventory and efficiency benefits | Requires Omni-Hammer II and applies to the whole group |
| Moldy Milk Molar | Buggy health, damage, gathering, and support | Spend it through the Buggy progression system |
Do not skip a normal Molar because another player already collected it for their build. Personal upgrades belong to the player who spends them. Mega upgrades benefit the group, including solo worlds where the same bonuses still apply to the lone player.
Region-by-region location checklist
This checklist prioritizes named landmarks that can be verified without map coordinates. Mark each discovery on your in-game map as you clear a region.
| Region | Normal Milk Molar landmarks |
|---|---|
| Snackbar and Snackbar Front | Art of War scorpion cave, Snackbar Anthill, Ant Cave, wooden platform corner, Hatchery Anthill, and the Red Soldier Ant Buggy cave |
| Entrance | Mushroom shelves on the central tree, fallen branch, trash-can cup, and the southwest Buggy tunnel |
| Ceremony | Beneath the large central rock and on the ground west of it |
| Picnic Table | Toxic Anthill stone layer, dirt cave near the hot dog, locked briefcase mint box, cooler bottle, and the eastern tunnel |
| Pine Hill | The guarded O.R.C. stash pair, lingonberry bushes, and the Spider Den main cavern |
| Ice Cream Cart | Back of the ice cream container, southern freezing cave, and the cave beneath the cart |
| Fire Pit | Beneath the eastern log and in the hand of the toy figure inside the pit |
| Grass Games | Beneath a path stone |
| Statue | Red wiffle ball, Rose Garden route, far-wall spotlight, and the branch climb inside the hedge |
The most useful Mega Milk Molar checkpoints are under the Picnic Table cloth, behind cracked rocks west of Ranger Outpost: Trash Bags, below the KLBB II News Camera, on top of the Entrance trash can, under the Ice Cream Cart, near the Pine Hill green lantern, on top of the Fire Pit, and inside the lower Statue facility.
Toxic Tangle added the Garden after the original park route. Treat the Greenhouse, Veggie Garden, and Pumpkin Patch as three separate sweeps. Their vertical climbs and hidden crawlspaces reward checking above leaves, behind pots, and inside connected tunnels after finishing each local story objective.
Efficient collection route
- Start with the Art of War cave and the nearby Snackbar and Entrance points.
- Clear Ceremony and the accessible Picnic Table caves before climbing the table.
- Return with the cooler protection, briefcase access, and Omni-Hammer II to finish the table and Mega locations.
- Sweep Pine Hill, Ice Cream Cart, and Fire Pit after your combat gear and environmental protection are ready.
- Finish Statue, then run independent Greenhouse, Veggie Garden, and Pumpkin Patch sweeps.
This order keeps early collection close to story routes and delays tool-gated locations until a return trip can clear several at once. It also prevents repeated travel into the cold, fire, and upper-table areas with incomplete equipment.
Access requirements before a full sweep
| Requirement | Locations it unlocks or simplifies |
|---|---|
| Omni-Hammer II | Every Mega Milk Molar you reach |
| Bratburst or another explosive | Cracked-rock cave west of Ranger Outpost: Trash Bags |
| Red Soldier Ant Buggy | Snackbar and Entrance tunnels blocked by roots or access gates |
| Chill protection | Ice Cream Cart interiors and the Picnic Table cooler route |
| Sizzle protection | Interior Fire Pit collection |
| Ladder or launch pad materials | KLBB II News Camera ledge and other high checkpoints |
| Torch, healing, and repair supplies | Anthills, spider spaces, and long underground loops |
Break and spend each collectible before leaving the area, then check the map marker. A discovered marker without a completed collection usually means the route was found before the required hammer, protection, or access tool.
