Grounded 2 Buggy unlock order
Grounded 2 currently has three rideable Buggies. Start with the Red Soldier Ant, progress to the Orb Weaver, then add the Ladybug while exploring Toxic Tangle. Treat each Buggy as a tool slot with legs: the ant carries, the spider fights, and the ladybug opens routes through hazardous Tang.
| Buggy | Main prerequisite | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Red Soldier Ant | Complete Missed Connection and buy the Hatchery blueprint | Early travel, gathering, and hauling |
| Orb Weaver | Obtain the Statue Turbo Optical Disk | Combat support and safer exploration |
| Ladybug | Obtain the Fairy Turbo Optical Disk in the Garden | Heavy combat and clearing Tang puddles |
How to unlock every Buggy
Red Soldier Ant
Complete Missed Connection, then buy the Hatchery blueprint from the Science Shop for 500 Raw Science. Build the Hatchery, bring back a Red Soldier Ant egg, and place it inside. The egg takes 12 in-game hours to hatch.
The egg occupies your hands, so clear a safe return route before picking it up. Once hatched, the ant gives you fast travel, extra storage, gathering support, and modest combat help.
Orb Weaver
Finish the main objective that awards access to the Statue Turbo Optical Disk. Insert the disk at a Ranger Outpost and buy the Orb Weaver blueprint for 5,000 Raw Science. Orb Weaver eggs are found in the spider den below Headless BURG.L near the center of the park.
Carry an egg to your Hatchery and allow 24 in-game hours for incubation. The Orb Weaver is much more combat focused than the ant, so it is the strongest choice when your route crosses aggressive creatures.
Ladybug
Enter the Garden through the War-Torn Anthill route and reach the underground facility below the Fairy Garden House. Take the Fairy Turbo Optical Disk from the lab desk, insert it at the nearby Ranger Station, and buy the Ladybug Nest blueprint for 2,000 Raw Science.
Ladybug eggs sit around the cabbage patch. Place one in a Hatchery with the required incubation materials and wait 12 in-game hours. Its pressurized water cannon clears blue Tang puddles, making this mount especially useful for Garden progression.
Choose the right Buggy
Take the Red Soldier Ant when the trip is mostly about stems, building supplies, or moving a carried egg. Switch to the Orb Weaver when enemies are the main obstacle. Bring the Ladybug to areas where Tang blocks the route or when you want a durable mount with a ranged utility attack.
Keep the Hatchery intact after your first mount. Later Buggy eggs use the same incubation workflow, and official updates continue to refine Buggy spawning, interaction priority, backpacks, and hatchery behavior.
