The Toxic Tangle arc begins after the Picnic story has reached Return to Office. It shifts progression into the Garden, where water, power, traversal, and the Field Archives are linked into one chain.

1. Garden Calling starts with Sloane's call at a Comms Array.
2. Beyond the Garden Wall leads through the new approach and into the greenhouse.
3. Bring a Hose to Water repairs the garden's water path and greenhouse misting system.
4. Power to the Garden reconnects junction boxes and restores the greenhouse power route.
5. Sowing Wild Limes finds and plants the Super Sour Seed.
6. The Archive resolves the growing-pod objective, the Masked Stranger encounter, and recovery of the BURG.L OS Chip.

Omni-Tool and early upgrades

Complete One Tool to Rule Them All to collect the Omni-Tool. Hammer and Shovel then points you toward the Ranger Station upgrades that let the same tool handle stronger materials and later quest obstacles.

First Buggy

The first Buggy comes from the linked Hatching a Plan and Egg Hunt quests. Build the hatchery, retrieve the Soldier Ant Egg, place it in the hatchery, and complete the hatching objective before mounting the new companion.

Community Garden access

Finish the Picnic chain through Return to Office, then answer Garden Calling. The Garden objectives assume you can handle stronger creatures, tool checks, long climbs, and multi-stage environmental repairs, so upgrade and restock before moving beyond the wall.

Start with the quest log and check every objective under the current story entry. Some transitions wait for a final report at a Comms Array, Ranger Station terminal, or other quest interaction after the visible field work is done.
